Auction Committee Delivers a Night of Fun and Food

“Conserving Land: Not Just a Pretty Space” was the theme of the Trust’s 27th annual fall Auction Party, which drew 150 friends and supporters to Stonewall Golf Club in Elverson on November 14.  As in the past, the theme was evocatively expressed in the painting Deb Kuhn created for the invitation and catalog. The original work was one of the items offered for sale, which also included getaways to a Brittany chateau and to vacation houses in Mexico, Montauk, and Pocono Mountain, several catered parties, a country carriage ride, a kayak, original art by local artists Markels Roberts and Cindy Oswald, box seats at the Devon Horse Show, jewelry, antiques, theater tickets, and dinners in local restaurants.

The party this year featured a delectable dinner of hors d’oeuvres, prime rib, crab-stuffed tilapia, and desserts homemade by committee volunteers, followed by a selection of after-dinner chocolates donated by chocolatier Antoine Amrani.

As always, the success of the auction, the Trust’s biggest fundraiser, relied completely on the hard work and expertise donated by our crack Auction Committee, led by this year by Blake Swihart and Vicky Hanko.  The committee met monthly from the beginning of the year to put the party together, and their planning and effort showed in every detail, from the save-the-date card to the gorgeous table displays at the event.  Our sincere thanks go to everyone involved.
